You may have noticed a little addition to the format of my review for My Man Godfrey. There is a link to a copy of the review on Letterboxd. I've had a Letterboxd account for some time now, which you can find under my usual alias of Avalanche here. You'll notice on the Letterboxd site that I have also been adding, shock horror, ratings out of five stars for films for a while now. Besides the fact that Letterboxd is a very snazzy looking website that presents a lot of data really well, it's another good reason to check it out every so often.
I haven't decided yet whether to simulcast the reviews on both sites, or to eventually exclusively post the reviews there. After all, it is a logical place to put film reviews when you have a Letterboxd account, and it seems silly not to put my reviews there. If I do go down the path of a transition to Letterboxd, it will mean a potential decrease in activity, but it will not mean the end of this blog altogether. There's still plenty of wrap-ups and television reviews that will always need a home which Letterboxd can't provide, and I'd still link to the reviews I write on Letterboxd from here. There may also be short-form film reviews that might not work on Letterboxd.
The way ahead is going to be a bit of an experiment to see what works. It'll be worth it, though, because I'm sure we'll all be happy with the end result.
You could always do exclusives on BOTH accounts:
